We Are S.M.E

[REVIEW] Take Fight Club – One Basement, Four DJs and Plenty of Tunes by wearesme

Our pals over at Take Flight Club hosted their first ever party at Embassy Bar on Islington’s Essex Road on the weekend and we couldn’t resist the temptation of bouncing along to see what a gwan.

On approach to the bar, things didn’t look too promising, the bar seemed pretty empty and it was already 11pm. But, walk to the back of the bar, past the DJ and head down the stairs into the basement and it was a different story altogether.

With TFC taking over the basement for the night, there was a queue forming at the top of the stairs for the guestlist-only party. The basement was quite a small room, with a very low ceiling (not suitable for anyone over 6′ 4″) which made it quite hot but that wasnt stopping the 120, or so, people who had crammed in for the bash. People were throwing their best shapes to some of the finest tunes around.

The DJs for the night were TFC’s very own Mumblz, LSOK and DJ TP alongside Hotflush Recording’s George Fitzgerald (this guys going to be big, keep an eye out for him). Between them they played everything from Garage, House, Dub-Step, Hip Hop, Funk, Motown, Bashment and beyond. The sound system was banging with the bass pumping through everyone.

The guests enjoyed every minute, especially one particularly lively man who didn’t stop bopping all night and was literally dripping in sweat come the end! The mood was spot on and everyone was there for a good time and indeed a good time was had by all.

Just so you can have a little taster of what the night was like we have managed to get hold of DJ TP’s live set from the night, which you can listen to HERE. Boom!

Hats off to the Take Flight Club crew. Roll on the next one.

Much love x
