We Are S.M.E

S.M.E DJ’s

Former DMC Young UK DJ of the year, drawing on a wide range of influences from different styles and times means diversity is to be expected. Played alongside the likes of Swedish House Mafia’s Axwell, Kiss 100/Pure Garage’s DJ EZ, UK Garage masters MJ Cole and Karl ‘tuff enuff’ Brown to US Billboard toppers Jagged Edge and UK Chart topping 2Play.

A resident for Take Flight Club & S.M.E. in 2010, the mixes will come thick, fast, and heavy with a total disrespect for musical boundaries…

2011 will see the long-awaited unveiling of a new project with Radio 1 & Fatboy Slim award-winning DJ Marek. Watch this space.

She has also graced the decks at the world-famous Fabric, NME Skins party at the Arches (London Bridge),  Shoreditch hotspots such as Shoreditch House, East Village & The Hoxton Pony as well as an extensive list of private events and renowned music venues such as The Troubadour and The Refectory.

Twiggy first became immersed in the underground rave scene when he was 15 at local squat parties such as 491 Gallery, and, with the infamous Hackney Wick (291) on his doorstep, Twiggy had an insight and firsthand experience of life as a DJ and promoter of raves.
Twiggy developed a passion for music and DJ’ing and decided that he wanted to pursue his career throwing his own parties, but in his own style and on his own terms.

After a lot of talking and mixing with the right and wrong people (!), a chance meeting with two rave promoters based in South London finally gave Twiggy his first opportunity to throw his own raves.
There followed a series of successful raves around South London – Waterloo, Surrey Quays and Canada Water in squats that Twiggy acquired himself. As a result of these initial successes, Twiggy was able to invest in his own CDJ’s. Every night he would set them up in the leaky shed at the bottom of his garden and practice for hours on end never losing sight of his goal.

Twiggy continued to DJ around London, building his reputation. He has played in most of the best venues in London including Proud, Catch, Sin, Nambucca, 93ft East, 333 Astoria 2, Punk and Corsica Studios.Since this, Twiggy’s reputation as one of London’s best underground promoters and his ability as a mash-up DJ has gone from strength to strength.

During 2009, he had Festival DJ slots at Glastonbury, Camp Bestival, Bestival along with main stage slots at Ministry Of Sound, Seone, Fabric, Matter and Brixton Academy
