Lupe Fiasco took his promotional campaign for new album Lasers to France this week.

On his birthday he visited Generations 88.2 radio station and dropped a fly freestyle alongside French rapper Danny Dan; as ever a real freestyle without the aid of a Blackberry or iPhone. Lupe was rewarded with a birthday cake for his efforts!

22 WAYS TO SAY BLACK – SWAROVSKI by wearesme

Over the last century, the Little Black Dress, or LBD, has made its mark as the ultimate expression of chic, becoming a wardrobe staple for stylish women everywhere.
Now a major international initiative from Swarovski Elements brings added glamour to this fashion classic, while fund-raising for charity at the same time.

Last year, Swarovski Elements commissioned 22 of fashion’s best-known names and most talented newcomers to design a spectacular, one-off dress each, to be auctioned off in September 2010 in New York City.
One hundred per cent of the proceeds from the auction and sale of the catalogue will go to the American Cancer Society and La ligue nationale contre le cancer in France.

After a successful launch in Paris during couture week this January, the dazzling collection of show pieces went on public display at the city’s prestigious Palazzo Pozzo di Borgo. The exhibition then travelled to Beijing, where it was unveiled at an exclusive event on 8th April 2010.

The auction is now right around the corner. In 10 days time, on the 20th September, at the New York Gallery of Phillips de Pury & Company, all 22 dresses will be sold at auction to benefit the American Cancer Society and La ligue nationale contre le cancer in France.

Believe Arena – The indoor World Cup stadium by wearesme

There is little over two weeks to go until World Cup fever fully descends upon the country and SME know exactly where we will be watching the action.

Coming to London this summer is the BELIEVE indoor stadium, the best place to watch the World Cup outside of South Africa. It will be the third time that this huge indoor arena has been set up for a major tournament, with the FA claiming “It’s almost better than being in an actual stadium!”

This time round, the Believe Team have got together with everyone’s favourite football management simulation game, Football Manager and will be taking over a mega-venue to turn it into London’s footballing World Cup mecca!

With massive screens, terraced standing, DJs, incredible sound, a giant bar, official South African World Cup wines and most importantly the Beautiful Game, why wouldn’t you want to go?

Every single game will be shown live in the Belive Arena, which will be stationed at The Truman Brewery – just off Brick Lane, right by Liverpool Street.

Having sold more than 100 tickets in their first hour of being on sale it is shaping up to, again, be a huge event. Last time out more than 40,000 people attended, which says all you need to know.

So, join the Facebook group for updates, more information and all the build up to 11th June.

Personally, we couldnt be more excited.

NIKE – WRITE THE FUTURE by wearesme

World Cup fever starts here, trust SME! This is quite possibly the best football ad we’ve seen to date and if it doesn’t get you in the mood for the 2010 World Cup in South Africa, we don’t know what will. Even Kobe Bryant and The Simpsons are excited!

“The time has come for players to carve their name in history. One touch, tackle or free kick could crush a nation’s hopes or cause them to build a statue in your honour. Drogba, Rooney and Ronaldo are ready to Write The Future.”

21 days and counting…

[SNAPS] Umbro’s World Champions Collection + Hot Women = Back Of The Net by wearesme

Wozah. Theres something about beautiful women in football shirts that always gets SME….

Created to celebrate the seven teams that have triumphed at the world’s biggest football tournament, Umbro’s World Champions Collection brings in a team of top designers to create a new badge for their home nation. Here’s the girls from the seven nations involved, modelling the shirts from their countries – Alice Bregoli (Italy), Susana Werner (Brazil), Julia Goedicke (Germany), Luli Fernandez (Argentina), Zaira Nara (Uruguay), Peter Crouch’s missus Abbey Clancy (England) and Charlene Suric (France). They were shot by the brilliant photographer and Dazed & Confused founder Rankin.

A mixture of graffiti artists, cartoonists, tattoo designers, record label owners, illustrators and club night innovators have been hand picked to represent their countries by redesigning their national crest. Each of the resulting crests has a fascinating story behind it, exploring the cultures and stories that shape the national identity of the country in question.
