We Are S.M.E

[NEW MUSIC] DJ Khaled feat. Ludacris, T-Pain, Busta Rhymes, Mavado, Twista, Birdman, Ace Hood, Fat Joe, Jadakiss, Bun B, Game & Waka Flocka – Welcome To My Hood (Remix) by wearesme

Coming to a Sunday league near you; self appointed manager and chairman DJ Khaled, has drawn up a 13 strong team which he will play under the name of Welcome To My Hood. Ok that might not be entirely true, but it does allow for humorous mental images!

He has however called upon 12 Hip-Hop heavy weights for the official remix of Welcome To My Hood. The pulling power this man has is unquestionable; the line-up is ridiculos! And it will come as no surprise when we tell you it lives up to expectations. WOW.

Following last weeks leak of the sexual and addictive Motivation from Weezy and Kelly Rowland, here we have another baby making slow jam; this time from Chris Breezy.

Wet The Bed is taken from the upcoming FAME album and features slow jam veteran Ludacris; when Luda jumps on a love song, you know what time it is!

NEW MUSIC: Amy Winehouse – It’s My Party (Prod.Mark Ronson) [Quincy Jones] by wearesme

Amy Winehouse is back! Its been an age since we heard new material from her (too busy getting drunk and releasing clothing lines with Fred Perry) but here she is covering the classic track ‘It’s My Party’.

The track is taken from a tribute album to Quincy Jones (don’t worry he’s still alive!) which features reinterpretations of songs associated with him by some of the biggest music names around today. The likes of Usher, Ludacris, B.O.B, Akon and Mark Ronson all feature on ‘Q Soul Bossa Nostra’.

On the album Jones said; “Each artist picked a song that resonated with them for different reasons. I am honored that everyone wanted to be a part of this celebration of these songs. They all made them their own and knocked them out of the park.”

Q Soul Bossa Nostra will be released on November 9, 2010.

MTV Hottest MC In The Game 2010 – Eminem by wearesme

As SME predicted, Eminem has been crowned the 2010 Hottest MC In The Game by MTV and rightfully so, we’re sure you will agree.

Vodpod videos no longer available.

The final 10 is as follows:

1. Eminem
2. Jay-Z
3. Kanye West
4. Drake
5. Rick Ross
6. Nicki Minaj
7. Lil Wayne
8. Waka Flocka
9. B.O.B.
10. Ludacris

As much as we love HOVA, we would liked to have seen Kanye sitting in second because he really is untouchable right now.

What are your thoughts?

Way Back When…Ludacris by wearesme

So here we are with our next instalment. This week we would like to introduce, or reintroduce, you to a song which reminds us of our teenage years and all the carefree times we had.

It’s a song from way back when; the then Deputy Prime Minister John Prescott punched a protester who threw an egg at him, the year that Sven-Goran Eriksson began his term as England manager and one million children in over 3,000 schools participated in an experiment to see if it was possible to create earthquakes by all jumping off chairs… 2001.

Growing Pains by Ludacris.

This song featured on Luda’s second studio album ‘Word of Mouf’ alongside other classics such as ‘Rollout’ and ‘Area Codes’.
The album sold over 281,000 copies in its first week of sales, giving it a #3 debut on the Billboard and went on to go 3x Platinum.
‘Word of Mouf’ is Ludacris’ best-selling album to date with sales of over 3million copies sold in the United States alone.

Although never officialy released as a single, Growing Pains still remains one of SME’s favourites.

Enjoy x
