[LISTEN] The Strokes – Angles (Full Album Stream) by wearesme

Ladies and Gentlemen, the wait is over; The Strokes are back and here we have their latest record in all it’s glory.

Angles is the New York bands first album for almost 5 years; an incredible wait for a group with so many plaudits and a massive following.

They kicked off all the hype with the release of Under Cover Of Darkness as a free download via their website and this was followed by leaks of Machu Pichu and You’re So Right and a performance on SNL.

Listen to the album in full below and let us know if it was worth the wait!

Ed Sheeran performed a few acoustic tracks for Freshly Squeezed recently. They released a video of his performance of ‘The A Team’ and have today followed it up with ‘Lately’, which features East London’s finest; Devlin.

Keep an eye out for Devlin appearing from thin air to drop his verse and then magically disappearing again; we thought it was funny anyway!

[NEWS] Adele writes history in this weeks UK Chart by wearesme

This weeks UK chart has just been announced and it’s an incredible week for Adele and her label XL Recordings.

She has stormed to the top of the album charts with her second album 21 achieving record sales of over 208,000 in just one week; a figure that is only bettered by Take That’s ‘Patience’ last year. 21 is now the highest selling January album for five years.

Incredibly she her debut album 19 has made its way back into the chart securing a number 4 slot over 2 years after its release! Adele is the first artist for almost twelve years to score two Official Albums Chart Top 5 hits, including the number one, simultaneously.

And as if that wasn’t enough, Adele also has 3 singles in the Top 40 with Rolling In The Deep (3), Make You Feel My Love (15) and Someone Like You (36).

Incredible. And Deserved.

For the full album and single charts, head over to The Official Charts.

SME RELOAD: Take That – Progress fastest selling U.K album this century

[NEWS] Take That – Progress becomes fastest selling U.K album this century by wearesme

Take That’s new album ‘Progress’ has smashed all records before it on its first day of release.

The new album, the first since Robbie Williams returned to the band, was released yesterday and had already sold more than 235,000 copies by midnight. Thus making it the fastest selling album of the century in Britain; the highest first-day sales since “Be Here Now” by Oasis who sold just over 350,000 back in 1997.

Impressive.
