We Are S.M.E

[MUSIC + VIDEO] One Direction – Young Forever (Winners Single) & Harry whispering to Matt clip by wearesme

Had the boys got through to the final 2 we would have seen them perform their version of the Alphaville song ‘Young Forever’, which was most recently covered by Jay-Z and Mr Hudson.

So this is for all the One Direction fans who were upset that the boys didn’t win and thought they would never hear the song. Listen, download and enjoy!

And while were on the topic of One Direction…some of you may have noticed cheeky chap Harry whispering something in Matt’s ear when all of the contestants took to the stage to celebrate after his win.
Yes you saw right, he did say “Pussy”! “Just think about how much pussy you’re gonna get” to be precise! LAD!

Check out the footage below:

SME RELOAD: Matt Cardle wins X Factor 2010

[NEWS + VIDEO] Matt Cardle crowned winner of UK X Factor 2010 after receiving top votes every week! by wearesme

Matt Cardle emerged victorious this evening, piping Rebecca Ferguson and One Direction to the X Factor crown. It was also just revealed that Matt received the most votes EVERY WEEK in the lead up to the final! Incredible! Rebecca was a consistent second in weeks 5, 6, 8 and 9 and of course the final.

One Direction fell at the first hurdle after a brilliant performance of ‘Torn’ leaving Matt and Rebecca who performed to sing their respective ‘winners song’ and fight for those final votes. As SME revealed a few days ago, Matt performed the Biffy Clyro track ‘Many Of Horrors’ whilst Rebecca performed Duffy’s ‘Distant Dreamer’.

Although SME feel Rebecca’s final performance was better and more suited to the artist (and her stunning voice), Matt’s emotional performance and likeability clearly got him the votes. You can see both performances below:

Matt Cardle – Many Of Horrors (When We Collide)

Rebecca Ferguson – Distant Dreamer

As winner Matt’s version will be released as a single and become hot favourite to bag Christmas number one.

Let’s hope his career doesn’t follow the route of last years winner; Joe McElderry! And we wish Rebecca and One Direction the best of luck who will no doubt both go on to be credible and successful artists much like runners-up JLS and Olly Murs.

And before we leave you, a quick shout out to SME favourite Aiden. It was revealed that Louie and Simon had both predicted Aiden would win this year when asked at boot camp stage!

X FACTOR 04/12/10 Semi Final – BEST OF THE BUNCH by wearesme

It’s crunch time on the X Factor, with the semi final performances now done and dusted. Last night the contestants had to sing a club classic and a ballad to get them into next weeks final.

This week we were very impressed with One Direction and the ever consistent scouser Rebecca.

One Direction – Chasing Cars

The boys had a tough week losing their mentor Simon to flu (poor sod) and they were also one member down in rehearsals with Zain making his way home due to the passing of a relative (genuine sympathy).
And yet they still stepped up and gave 2 good performances; our favourite of which was their version of the Snow Patrol classic ‘Chasing Cars’.

‘Chasing Cars’ is the second single from Snow Patrol’s fourth album, Eyes Open. It was recorded in 2005 and released on June 6, 2006 in the US and 24 July 2006 in the UK. It became notable as one of the songs that revealed the impact of legal downloads on single sales in the UK. The song is Snow Patrol’s biggest-selling single to date

It’s like they’ve been doing it for years! When you remember that the group were strung together during the audition process, their achievement in getting this far seems all the more impressive.
They definitely deserve a place in the final; if anything to show the world that hard work pays off because they took their lifeline and have done their utmost to prove it was deserved.

Rebecca Ferguson – Amazing Grace

Rebecca sung the beautiful hymn ‘Amazing Grace’ in her second performance of the evening.

“Amazing Grace” is a Christian hymn written by English poet and clergyman John Newton (1725–1807), published in 1779. With a message that forgiveness and redemption are possible regardless of the sins people commit and that the soul can be delivered from despair through the mercy of God, “Amazing Grace” is one of the most recognizable songs in the English-speaking world.

Rebecca said she has wanted to sing this song for a long time and it was a very clever song choice here. Not only does it suits her voice perfectly but it’s very relevant with (what is meant to be) a very religious time of year just around the corner.

Please note; we have not mentioned the C word for obvious reasons. She should be arrested by the music police for murdering 2 more great ‘rap’ songs. That will be all on the matter.

Results on ITV1 @ 8pm tonight.

David Haye TKO’s Fraudley Harrison in Round 3 by wearesme

First off, we’d like to empathise with those of you who forked out £15 of your hard earned and/or sacrificed a night out on the tiles to watch this fight.

Everyone knows that Audley Harrison is a walking talking joke, but even the most experienced pundits out there held the opinion that he might put up some sort of a fight; after all he is a gold medalist.

But that wasn’t the case and after an extremely uneventful first 2 rounds and having thrown next to no punches, Audley Harrison was knocked out and left 1 million pounds richer. Its a funny old world!

X Factor 13/11/10 – Best Of The Bunch by wearesme

And so Live Show number 6 came to an end last night with all the acts singing Elton John numbers; rather ironicly considering Elton slated the show only weeks ago.

Rebecca Ferguson – Candle In The Wind

Top of the class this week will come as no real surprise to anyone, she’s every teachers pet; Rebecca Ferguson. Once again making a classic song sound current with her beautiful and distinctive voice.

Predominantly associated with Princess Diana, Candle In The Wind was originally written in 1973, in honor of Marilyn Monroe, who had died 11 years earlier.
But in 1997 Elton John performed a remake of the song as a tribute to Diana, Princess of Wales. This version of the song was released as a single and reached No. 1 in several countries world-wide.

One Direction – Something About The Way You Look Tonight

Stripped back with no stage performance, the boys were able to show off their vocals and harmonies on this song. Performed like a true boy band!

‘Something About The Way You Look Tonight’ was released as the first single from the album ‘The Big Picture’. Funnily enough, considering our favourite performance of the night, the single was released as a double A-side single with the 1997 version of ‘Candle in the Wind’, performed tonight by Rebecca.

Results at 8pm tonight (Sunday 14th) on ITV1.

If you missed tonights show, fear not! Here are our favourite performances of the night from the likes of Kanye West, 30 Seconds To Mars, Kings Of Leon, Rihanna, B.O.B, Shakira & Dizzee Rascal.
