[VIDEO] Oprah presents Master Class – Simon Cowell by wearesme

It was Simon Cowell’s to take part in Oprah’s Master Class series last night, the 4th episode aired on her OWN Network. Cowell follows Jay-Z whose episode we brought to you earlier this month.

Britain’s favourite love to hate character and millionaire music mogul plays the role of judge on his own actions for once; turning his critical eye on his own life and sharing what rejection, failure and, finally, great success have taught him along the way to his incredible success. [NEWS + VIDEO] Matt Cardle crowned winner of UK X Factor 2010 after receiving top votes every week! by wearesme

Matt Cardle emerged victorious this evening, piping Rebecca Ferguson and One Direction to the X Factor crown. It was also just revealed that Matt received the most votes EVERY WEEK in the lead up to the final! Incredible! Rebecca was a consistent second in weeks 5, 6, 8 and 9 and of course the final.

One Direction fell at the first hurdle after a brilliant performance of ‘Torn’ leaving Matt and Rebecca who performed to sing their respective ‘winners song’ and fight for those final votes. As SME revealed a few days ago, Matt performed the Biffy Clyro track ‘Many Of Horrors’ whilst Rebecca performed Duffy’s ‘Distant Dreamer’.

Although SME feel Rebecca’s final performance was better and more suited to the artist (and her stunning voice), Matt’s emotional performance and likeability clearly got him the votes. You can see both performances below:

Matt Cardle – Many Of Horrors (When We Collide)

Rebecca Ferguson – Distant Dreamer

As winner Matt’s version will be released as a single and become hot favourite to bag Christmas number one.

Let’s hope his career doesn’t follow the route of last years winner; Joe McElderry! And we wish Rebecca and One Direction the best of luck who will no doubt both go on to be credible and successful artists much like runners-up JLS and Olly Murs.

And before we leave you, a quick shout out to SME favourite Aiden. It was revealed that Louie and Simon had both predicted Aiden would win this year when asked at boot camp stage!

X Factor 23/10/10 – Best Of The Bunch by wearesme

[VIDEO] Banksy creates new Simpsons Intro by mozzatron

UK street artist and SME favourite Banksy has created a controversial new title sequence for The Simpsons.

The intro closes with a minute-long sequence showing dozens of sweatshop workers in a warehouse painting the cartoon and making Simpsons merchandise.

The storyboard was apparently inspired by reports the show outsources the majority of their animation to a company in South Korea.

Banksy joins an elite list of Britons who have contributed to the show, which includes Simon Cowell, Tony Blair and Ricky Gervais. However it is the first time an artist has been invited to storyboard part of the show so he is on an even more elite list on that front.

Banksy is clearly a big fan of The Simpsons, as shown by one of his pieces found in New Orleans (above) clearly inspired by the show.

The episode, called MoneyBart, will be shown in the UK on 21 October on Sky 1.
