[NEWS & VIDEO] Killer Mike to release album ‘PL3DGE’ in UK on 22/03/11 by wearesme

Mike Bigga a.k.a Killer Mike is causing waves (no fat jokes, he’s a big chap!) in the Hip-Hop scene right now following a series of well received tracks including Burn and the T.I featured track Ready Set Go, for which you can watch the video below.

After closing out 2010 on a high note, the Grammy-winning, Atlanta based rapper is set to unleash his album PL3DGE on March 22nd .

Full of live instrumentation, PL3DGE features production by NO ID, The Bizness, DJ Speedy, Raz, Zone and newcomers Sweatbox, who are credited by Mike for providing the album’s soul. Guests include TI, Young Jeezy, Gucci Mane, Twista & Rock D The Legend.

Having heard tracks like Burn, Ready Set Go and Pressure you can expect to hear plenty more political messages from this street soldier and catchy well produced beats to go with it.

PL3DGE is due for release in the UK on March 22nd.

Wretch and Examples new single Unorthodox is proving to be a popular track amongst DJ’s and producers, with a number of them jumping on the remix.

Here are 2 of the better attempts from Distance and Logistics. Distance’s dubstep version in particular impressed us, giving the original progressive kicks, snares and a lickle bit of bass. Logistics meanwhile, gives it a drum and bass makeover that gets you on your toes. Check out both remixes below.

[FRESH VIDEO] Jamie xx & Gill Scott-Heron – I’ll Take Care Of You by wearesme

Premiered by Dazed & Confused, here is the brilliant new video for an equally brilliant song from Jamie xx and Gil Scott-Heron; I’ll Take Care Of You.

The beautifully shot film profiles a single mother who is torn between caring for her child and pursuing a career as a boxer. She trains hard in the gym and returns to her council flat to play with her young child.

“Who want’s to fight all of the time unless there’s something wrong with you”. A moving insight, set to the soundtrack of a moving song.
