Red In The Face Comedy Night 12/10/10 by mozzatron

SME were invited down to ‘Punk’ in Soho last night by our good friends at ‘Red In The Face’ for another sold out, laughter filled evening.

In the crowd were all of the house-mates from the most recent Big Brother, including winner Josie, eagerly awaiting their fellow house-mate and finalist Andrew Edmond’s stand up debut.

Edmond’s was joined by 4 other brilliant acts; Irish rap duo Abandoman, the foursome of Late Night Gimp Fight, Rob Beckett and the beautiful Rachel Parris.
Each act provided something completely different from the next; there were sketch scenes, music, rap, and good old-fashioned stand up.

We will bring you exclusive video footage later in the week, but for now check out a few snaps from the evening, below.

It really is a brilliant night out. The comedians are always award-winning and of the highest standard, and the venue is nice and cosy with armchairs and sofas to keep you comfy. Drinks are also 2 for 1 if you arrive early; what more could you ask for from a night out!

Red In The Face is held @ Punk in Soho once a month. For more information check out their Facebook page.

COMPETITION: Win Tickets to a Top London Comedy Night by wearesme

Last month we told you about Red In The Face – a top comedy night in London.

This month, Red In The Face will be held at Punk in Soho on Tuesday 13th July .

They have a great line up, featuring David Whitney as MC and sets from Moonfish Rhumba, Marc Burrows, Christian Steel and the horribly funny Danielle Ward, who you may well have seen on top TV shows such as ‘Mock The Week’! They also have a fantastic comedy quiz to round off the night as Robin and Partridge present ‘For The Win’.

For the last event SME had two tickets up for grabs and our lucky winner was very pleased with their win and thoroughly enjoyed the night.

This time round, we yet again have two free tickets to give away! Boom!

Send us your best joke to wearesmeblog@googlemail.com or just comment on this post, below.

The one that makes us giggle the most and makes a little bit of wee come out shall be declared the winner.

It really couldn’t be any easier. The competition will close on Sunday, 11th July, so get your jokes in quick.

If you are not the chosen winner then fear not, because you can still get tickets from Ticket Arena and at £5 a pop, we think its an absolute bargain!

In the meantime, for more information and photos check out their website.

SME Reload: Red In The Face

On Tuesday evening SME attended one of London’s freshest nights of comedy, Red In The Face, at Punk in Soho. Only their third event so far and it was completely sold out, even a majority of the cast from Holby City made it along. But, this came as no surprise once the comedians hit the stage because they were all completely hilarious.

With an aim to showcase the UK’s newest comedy talent, they did not disappoint. Each comedian was different in their own rights; from a musician-come-comedian, to an American adjusting to life in the UK. And a trio of sketch comedians, to a ranting fuzzy-haired Essex chap with a hate for hoodies.

There were too many funny moments to mention but one particular line that sticks out is, when talking about Nick Griffin one of the comedians barked; “Never before has a man looked so much like a smell”. Genius.

We highly recommend that you get down a Red In The Face comedy night as soon as you can because the tickets sell out pretty damn fast!

Luckily for you, we have managed to get our grubby little mitts on a pair of tickets for the next night at Vibe Bar, Brick Lane on Tuesday 22 June. If you want them for yourself then all you have to do is enter our competition:

Tell us your favourite joke and the one that tickles us the most will be declared the winner. Simples.
