[FREE DOWNLOAD] Pyro Barz Ft. Loudmouth Melvin & Postman P – #Winning (Charlie Sheen) by wearesme

The now cult figure that is Charlie Sheen, can be seen and heard on every media outlet of late, as he documents his recovery from rendezvous with hookers and an army of class A drugs. His interviews are priceless and endlessly quotable; hilarious, yet slightly unsettling.

Grime MC’s (wait for it; there is a connection here) are never ones to sleep on topics rife within the media; forever fighting to stay relevant with their bars, and Pyro Barz, Loudmouth Melvin & Postman P are no exception. The trio have released a track inspired by Charlie Sheen himself titled #Winning; Sheen’s new-found catchphrase.

Don’t be fooled by the intro made up of hilarious quotes taken from Sheen interviews; this is no gimmick. They come with a sick Hip-Hop beat and relevant, witty bars. SME take our hats off to these lads.

And for those left dumbfounded by all of the Charlie Sheen talk; here is one of his most recent interviews so you don’t feel left out. Oh and for the record; he’s being deadly serious.

[NEW MUSIC] Kanye West – Summer Of Dreams (Snippet) by wearesme

We never normally post ‘snippets’ but in Kanye’s case we always make exceptions. And if this were an aircraft, it would be described as a UFO. But it’s not, so we’ll move on from that thought.

SME have no idea whether this is old material or new; it could be a track that didn’t make the cut for My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy or a song set to feature on Kanye’s upcoming summer album. As soon as we find out more, we’ll be sure to inform you. Until then, enjoy the snippet of Kanye pouring his broken heart out.

[REVIEW] NME Awards Tour @ Brixton 20/2/11 by wearesme

SME were very kindly invited down to Brixton Academy for the NME Awards Tour on Saturday evening by our friends at Get Involved. The lineup looked pretty impressive; The Vaccines, Everything Everything, Magnetic Man and Crystal Castles all in one evening? It was like Christmas come early!

The Awards Tour began all the way up in Glasgow at the beginning of the month and this, the biggest show of them all, would bring it to a close.

We were sure to arrive early because The Vaccines were up first, and following our interview with Freddie from the band, we couldn’t wait to seeing the band live for the first time.
They certainly didn’t disappoint; their up beat rock n roll sound had the main floor bouncing, especially during their brilliant debut single Post Break-Up Sex and the frantic 1 minute 20 seconds long Wreckin’ Bar, which will forever be a fan favourite. The band also performed their next single ‘If You Wanna’ which is due for release in March.

Their sets remain fairly short, at roughly the half hour mark; but in this short time they bring with them brilliant positive energy and upbeat, feel good tracks which leave you in great spirits. Having now seen them live, it is easy to see why they are tipped to be a band that will play a major part in guitar music’s resurgence in 2011.

Jessie J is a genuine character. Funny, talented and very endearing; her shows are an experience you wont forget quickly.

She had us in stitches at the Scala gig in January and it looks like she was up to her usual mischief again this week when celebrating her #1 single Price Tag. Watch her cracking jokes and giving an impromptu freestyle (and at times incredible vocals) during her HMV Next Big Thing gig at Barfly, Camden on Sunday evening.

Jessie; SME love you.

[VIDEO & FREE DOWNLOAD] The Streets take over Guardian Blog & release final song ‘Close The Book’ by wearesme

Depending on whether you see the glass as half empty or half full; today will either be a great day or a very sad one for you. And before this becomes a counselling session; we’re only referring to The Streets fans!

Today marks the release of The Streets last ever album ‘Computers and Blues’ (preview it in full HERE). Mike Skinner has officially retired from The Streets.

To celebrate this fact, Mike has been invited to take over The Guardian’s music blog for the whole week. Today he released a video telling us what we can expect in the coming week, along with announcing a new song that will probably be the last ever track from The Streets. He had planned to include the track titled Close The Book at the end of ‘Computers and Blues’, however having thought about it he “realised it would be shit”. His words, not ours!

In the video, he also declares that Ghostpoet is currently his favourite MC alongside Drake; an incredible seal of approval for SME’s latest interviewee! (Read our exclusive interview here)

Check out both the video and the new track below:

[WATCH] Super Bowl XLV Commercials by wearesme

Last night saw the Greenbay Packers and the Pittsburgh Steelers compete in the 45th annual Super Bowl. The game was held at Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas where the Lil Wayne backed Packers were eventually crowned champions after a 31-25 victory.

Such is the popularity of the Super Bowl, (last years match drew viewing figures of 106.5 million in the US alone) that advertising slots during the match are the most expensive in the world. This year, a 30 second slot would set you back no less than $3 million. WOW.

As you can imagine; with the adverts carrying such a hefty price tag, only the major companies get in on the action. Companies such as Coca-Cola, Pepsi, Mercedes Benz and Budweiser compete with each other to come up with the most unique and talked about commercial. Naturally, they rope in all the celebs they can; with the likes of Eminem, P Diddy, Justin Beiber and Kim Kardashian all featuring at some point.

If you didn’t watch the Super Bowl (you missed out!), or we’re subjected to the boring UK coverage; you can watch all of the US adverts on YouTube. Just click on the link below, where you can also vote for your favourite:
