[NEWS] Coca-Cola Christmas Twitter Campaign in London by wearesme

Someone from Coca-Cola was clearly in attendance of our We Are S.M.E Blog Party in Shoreditch on Friday night, because in news released today, Coca-Cola is giving people the chance to post messages on its infamous electronic sign in London Piccadilly via Twitter.

O.K, so the electronic sign in Piccadilly is a lot more glamorous than the projector in Villain (East Village) but SME set trends, remember that!

The campaign, created by design agency Sedley Place, allows consumers to tweet their Christmas messages to the official Coca-Cola Twitter account (@cokezone) for the opportunity to have it displayed on the electronic sign.

Those who are lucky enough to have their tweets displayed will receive a direct message from Coca-Cola and their message will be shown on the sign five minutes later.

Tweets can also be viewed live on their website, www.cokezone.co.uk/piccadilly, via a webcam set up to film the sign.

The campaign runs until 23 December.

SME’s are currently in talks with our lawyers regarding the matter.

Kanye West has revealed the banned cover art which was originally meant for his forthcoming album My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy album.

He tweeted the image this morning saying:

“Yoooo they banned my album cover!!!!! Ima tweet it in a few…”

“Banned in the USA!!! They don’t want me chilling on the couch with my phoenix! http://twitpic.com/2ykxjk”

“In the 70s album covers had actual nudity… It’s so funny that people forget that… Everything has been so commercialized now.”

“I know that cover just blew yall minds … I wish yall could see how hard I’m smiling right now!!!”

“In all honesty … I really don’t be thinking about Wal-Mart when I make my music or album covers #Kanyeshrug!”

“I wanna sell albums but not at the expense of my true creativity.”

“So Nirvana can have a naked human being on they cover but I can’t have a PAINTING of a monster with no arms and a polka dot tail and wings.”

My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy is released on 22 November 2010.

Understandably he’s not a happy bunny. x

SME RELOAD: Kanye West

Kanye tweets a whole lot off his chest by wearesme

This afternoon, following the release of another free track ‘Devil In A New Dress’, Kanye West amassed around 90 tweets in the space of 3 hours. A record surely? His topic of choice? His demise thanks to the media since THAT Taylor Swift incident at the VMA Awards 2009.

It’s rare that you see an artist open themselves up in such a manner so publicly, but Kanye was clearly hurt by the whole incident in ways we couldn’t imagine (until now) and is extremely apologetic for his actions.

He pleads for a new start to let his music do the talking. SME hope he gets it because the man is a creative genius.

See what he had to say on his Twitter:
