We Are S.M.E

MassiveMusic turns 10 by wearesme

Firstly, sorry for the lack of posts recently but we have good reason… We have been on holiday.

Yes, thats right, we pitched ourselves up in Cannes for a few days and just in time for the Cannes Lions Advertising Festival and more so; the annual MassiveMusic beach party. Boom.

MassiveMusic was born during the festival in 2000 and has been part of its legend ever since. In such a short period of time the Amsterdam based music agency has opened up offices in New York (2005), Los Angeles (2008) and Tokyo (2009), becoming the first international music production company to do so.

But what do they do? You ask.

Well, they write and produce music for picture; working with scouts, acts and a huge pool exclusive composers and sound designers all over the world. Which all sounds pretty cool and it is!

They have worked with and produced music for some of the biggest names around to feature in their commercials. This includes the likes of Nike, BMW, MTV and Coca Cola. Arguably, their most famous advert would be the recent Nike – Write The Future campaign.

So, when we heard that we were invited to the legendary beach party in Cannes this year, to celebrate their 10th birthday, we certainly weren’t going to say no. And it was most definitely worth it.

With a banging sound system, a purpose built dance floor (that was quite literally bouncing) and some of the finest vibes we have heard; 2000 people gathered on Noga Beach and had an almighty party.

One thing’s for sure, we are already looking forward to next year…

World Cup fever starts here, trust SME! This is quite possibly the best football ad we’ve seen to date and if it doesn’t get you in the mood for the 2010 World Cup in South Africa, we don’t know what will. Even Kobe Bryant and The Simpsons are excited!

“The time has come for players to carve their name in history. One touch, tackle or free kick could crush a nation’s hopes or cause them to build a statue in your honour. Drogba, Rooney and Ronaldo are ready to Write The Future.”

21 days and counting…
